Felipe Massa was back behind the wheel of the Ferrari F60 on Sunday, his first outing in the team’s 2009 machine since his life-threatening crash at the Hungarian Grand Prix meeting back in July. Massa wowed the crowds at Spain’s Valencia circuit, where Ferrari were celebrating the end of their motorsport season with the annual Ferrari World Finals.

It may not have been his first time back in an F1 car - he tested an older machine at Ferrari’s Fiorano test track last month - but it was a very special day for the Brazilian, back in front of his beloved fans less than four months after his skull was fractured by a loose spring from a rival car.

“I am very happy to be here, that I can work with the team,” said Massa. “It’s true that I’ve been with them in Sao Paulo and in Abu Dhabi, but driving is really extraordinary! Today I also want to thank all the fans, who were really close to me over the last months. The messages I received were wonderful.”

Massa drove around 20 laps, first with his test driver team mates Marc Gene, Giancarlo Fisichella and Luca Badoer and later on, after a couple of pit stops, alone - an experience he described as almost as good as a race win.

The New York buddies turned LA showbiz hipsters on HBO’s series “Entourage” don’t just hang out at trendy Beverly Hills and Malibu hot spots. Just recently they made a pit stop at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana.

According to a speedway statement, the show’s cast — Kevin Connolly (Eric), Adrian Grenier (Vince), Kevin Dillon (Drama) and Jerry Ferrara (Turtle) — filmed an episode that included the new Ferrari California. What might be the guys’ newest toy, at least for that episode, is the latest in a new generation of Ferrari sportscars.

The episode is scheduled to air in July, during the show’s sixth season.

  • Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16m - Celebrating 16 Ferrari F1 ChampionshipsWhen you are Ferrari - you can afford to celebrate in style. Take the new Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M which was launched to celebrate Ferrari’s 16th Formula One Championship. It boasts an exclusive 16GB iPod Touch - but you have to buy the CAR in order to get the iPod - it’s sort of a package deal.

Based on the F430 Spider, the 16M is the quickest convertible Ferrari has ever made at 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 315km/h. The mid-mounted 4.3-litre V8 has a modest power and torque boost to develop 375kW and 470Nm, and drives through a six-speed F1 two-pedal manual gearbox. Like the coupe released earlier this year, the Spider achieves its gains mainly by stripping weight from the donor car — 80kg. Unique features include carbon-fibre clad roll-bars and audio system with removable Ferrari iPod.

Just 499 of them are scheduled to be built and the 16M will only be made in yellow, red and black. All three colors feature Italian tri-color livery and gratuitous “16M” badging. Pricing is currently unavailable. Guess you’ll have to ask Santa and hope that you’ve been a good boy this year!
