  • Danica Patrick - Sports IllustratedReally? I would have guessed since we’re talking “athlete” and not “pin up girl” or “marketing technique” that someone like oh, I don’t know, Dale Earnhardt Jr. or Ladanian Tomlinson - maybe even Brett Favre - would come up as “most searched” in 2008. Or maybe in 2008 they were talking about “most accused of winning a thrown race” - no, NASCAR provided a lot of those opportunities for conspiracy theory in 2008 (Kyle Busch and Toyota anyone?) - but still, it’s just hard to believe that Danica is the most-searched.

Then I went looking for a photo of Danica to add to this blog posting and I figured out why… maybe if Dale Jr., LT and Favre posed nearly naked in a thong, gyrating in the sand on a beach they could aim for most-searched in 2009… good luck guys!

  • Ok - last one - I promise. Amateur racing is a lot of fun to watch - the drivers all have such heart! This ice racing event just looks like a blast - can you say lots of donuts? That’s pretty much all most of us would be doing. The fact that this guy kept making these cones for so long is a testament to his driving skills!

  • After yesterday’s ice racing, I got curious so I kept checking out racing in the same theme. I played football in the snow a few times as a kid visiting relatives for the holiday, so I imagine racing rally cars in the snow would be even better!
